BROOKE BAKER
Brooke Baker in away feels her softball career has come full circle, Brooke started playing softball at
age 7 on Chicago's Southeast Side, after just one season her family moved to Schererville. At age 8, and right here in
the Schererville Town Ball League, Brooke began her assault on Indiana Softball, by the time her playing days were over,
she had arguably become the finest softball pitcher the State of Indiana had ever produced. Baker is back in Schererville,
and would like to help the young pitchers of the Tri-Town Area fulfill there softball dreams.
Baker led Lake Central High School to a State Championship in 2002, runner up in 2003, and a third
place finish in 2001, on her way to those team honors, she picked up, 4 Lake Central MVP's, 4 years All-State, 3 years
The Times Newspaper Player of the Year, 2 years Post-Tribune Player of the Year, 2003 Gatorade Player of the Year, 2003 Indiana
Miss Softball, 2003 Hoosier Diamond Newspaper Miss Softball, Brooke holds just about every Lake Central Pitching Record.
Baker was recruited by over 60 colleges before she accepted an Athletic Scholarship to Purdue University, were she became
the winningest pitcher in Purdue history, while leading the Boilermakers to there first Post-Season Victory, she earned
4 Pitcher of the Year Awards, and was selected Purdue's MVP in 2007, Baker earned All Big-Ten honors in 2007 as well,
in 2006 while playing for the St. Louis Saints, she was selected ASA 1st Team All-American, one of Brooke's highlights was
Pitching against the 2004 USA Olympic Team. By the time Brooke was done at Purdue she had held almost every pitching record. Upon
graduation from Purdue, Brooke spent one year as volunteer asst. coach for the Boilermakers, two years as coach
at Benton Central High School, she also conducted her own pitching school in West Lafayette, Indiana. Currently she is
an Asst. Coach at St. Joesph's College in Rensselaer, Indiana. |
